Black Tea
Black teas are black or brown in colour; this is due to the fermenting and firing that the leaves go through, this process is called oxidation. Black tea is more oxidized than the oolong, green tea and white tea however all four types are made from leaves of the shrub (or small tree) Camellia sinensis. Black tea is generally stronger than less oxidised tea but importantly tastes also vary according to altitude, region, weather and the expertise of the estate.
