Why drink a black tea blend?
Black tea is a healthy beverage with a pleasant taste and aroma. This beverage can help to alleviate headaches, relieve fatigue and drowsiness, improve mood, stimulate heart rate, and stimulate digestion. It is a mild diuretic, which makes it beneficial for the kidneys and urinary tract. This beverage is perfect for quenching a thirst in the summer heat, and for warming up in the winter cold.
Tea is a storehouse of organic substances. It is rich in caffeine, vitamins (A, B, C, E, and K), organic acids, pectin, tannins, and microelements (magnesium, manganese, sodium, potassium, calcium, fluorine, iodine, and copper).
The high content of caffeine makes black tea coffee's competitor. A cup of tea contains 30 to 60 milligrams of caffeine; a cup of coffee contains 80 to 120 milligrams of caffeine. The difference in these two beverages is the rate at which caffeine is absorbed in the body. The caffeine in coffee is absorbed almost immediately, creating a fast and short stimulating effect; caffeine in black tea is absorbed slowly, making it work longer.
In order to preserve all the benefits of tea, you need to store it properly and protect it from moisture and odors. It is best to store dry tea in a special jar, such as porcelain, faience, or glass. The jar has to have a tight lid.
It is also important to brew black tea the right way. It is not recommended to brew it in metal pots, as this can change its taste. The best materials for brewing pots are porcelain and faience. Brewing is easy: add the tea, add boiling water and wait 3-5 minutes.
When the freshly brewed tea is in a cup, you can add a slice of lemon to it. The strength of the beverage will remain the same, but its color will become much lighter. Black tea with lemon quenches thirst better. Besides, lemon is rich in vitamin C (ascorbic acid).
Keep in mind that it is not recommended to drink yesterday's tea, as it has too much caffeine and guanine.
On average, a person from Britain consumes about 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) of tea a year. It is estimated that London has over 500 tea rooms. In Britain, people drink black tea three times a day: at breakfast, during lunch, and in the evening. Britain drinks more tea than the US and Canada combined.
